We just wanted to provide a brief update on Liam because it’s been awhile since posting. With yesterday being Father’s Day, we couldn’t help but reflect on how things were at this time last year where we kept getting devastating news that would seem to escalate with each medical appointment we went to. Most of our medical teams weren’t giving us much hope, and any little bit of positivity we would rarely receive would be taken away at the next checkup. Looking back to Father’s Day last year, we’ll never forget spending all day at the hospital due to pregnancy complications, resulting in even more risks and challenges developing from there. Yet, we kept the faith, prayed hard for our boy and prayed for peace and the ability to accept whatever our future held. And what a difference a year makes.
Looking now at Liam, he’s growing stronger each day. He’s a happy little guy, always smiling and giggling, crawling everywhere, playing with his big sister Clara, curious about anything and everything, has a great appetite he’s growing at a good pace, and most importantly, continuously overcoming so many obstacles that are in his way.
This journey has been full of blessings and, honestly, some pretty difficult times too.
He is down to 4 medications by mouth in the morning and 4 medications at night. We have to continuously watch him for any signs of bleeding from the anticoagulants he is taking. He had a cranial helmet the past few months to help reshape his skull after laying flat in the hospital as a newborn. He had a Holter monitor recently that shows some concerning heart rhythms, so we are also monitoring that closely. Overall, Liam is doing better and we are working on growing and developing. As of yesterday, he is officially 10 months old so it was a very special weekend.
Even though the future isn’t always clear, we truly cherish every second and every heartbeat. Liam has taught us so much. We are so thankful for the blessing of Liam in our lives and we are grateful to everyone who has been following his journey over the past 10 months.
Thank you for being there with us, we sincerely appreciate your continued encouragement and support for our strong little Heart Warrior ❤️ #LiamStrong
