Liam wanted to send everyone an update!

He is now 19 months old and had a great 18 month well primary care check. He is growing steadily. His development is in keeping with babies his age. He has his physical therapy evaluation coming up, but they feel he is right where he needs to be. He is now running, trying to walk up stairs and is trying to jump! He is saying new words everyday and trying to say short sentences.
Liam also had his cardiology appointment at the children’s hospital. He was so excited to see his cardiology nurse practitioners, doctor and surgeon. He was so brave with his getting his blood drawn, his vital signs, EKG and ECHO. His oxygen saturations, ECHO and EKG were all good. He had a 24 hour Holter monitor placed to look at his heart rhythms, we are still waiting on the results.
We found out the new cardiology medical director recommends Liam have his next open heart surgery, the Fontan, closer to his 3rd birthday instead of his 2nd birthday this August. The director feels children fair better waiting until closer to 3 years of age. Now we will monitor Liam closely. His surgeon said we will watch Liam’s oxygen saturations closely and his body will tell us when it’s time for the next heart surgery.
We are thankful for this great medical report, but also anxiously awaiting the next steps and plans for his cardiac cath and surgery. We are beyond thankful for all of the continued prayers, love and well wishes from everyone. Thank you all!
Hugs and love, from Liam
